Why play sports?

1.) Fitness This one is obvious but you stay in shape and will feel better about yourself as a whole. According to a report from the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), In 2006, a study on female athletes found that when female students are given more opportunity to participate in athletics in high school, their weight and body mass improve. Plus you have less time to watch television or play video games after school. You are also less likely to get involved in risky situations such as doing drugs or even teen pregnancy.

2.) Academically Improving Your grades improve because you have better attendance because you feel as though you have another reason to shop up to school everyday. Most high school sports have practice 6 days a week. You also need to have good grades to participate in sports according to many school policies. Sports also teach you life lessons on how to solve problems, how to work with others, the power of practice and how to never give up.

3.) Social Sports allow you to make long lasting relationships with your teammates and your school. Bonding together over a common passion, you become close friends with your team members and many of these friendships last years past high school graduation. The best teams always have great chemistry.You become more known around the school as many students attend high school games, which gives a little pressure on doing your best during every game which is beneficial to you and your team.
